About the Oxon-Bucks Partnership
Oxon-Bucks Partnership is an employment based provider of initial teacher training put together by Oxfordshire County Council, Buckinghamshire County Council and Oxford Brookes University (Westminster Institute of Education). The Partnership was formerly known as the Oxon/Bucks DRB (designated recommending body). A change of name was required in 2006 when the DRB became an accredited provider in its own right.
The Oxon Bucks Partnership is responsible for supervising school based teacher training via the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) and Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (OTTP). The first GTP cohort started in September 2002 with 36 trainees. There are now approximately 60 trainees each year in primary and secondary schools throughout Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Since 2004 we have also supported the accreditation of overseas trained teachers on the Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (OTTP). This is a scheme whereby those who have trained as teachers outside of the European Economic Area may gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The Partnership is overseen by a steering group comprising representatives from the four main partners together with heads from primary, secondary and special schools within the two authorities. Most of the resources of the Partnership are provided via the four partners.
The Partnership office is located in the Oxfordshire County Council Shared Services Centre offices at Unipart House. Neil Brading, the Partnership Manager and Alex Vickers, the Partnership Administrator will be glad to answer any questions. Telephone 01865 797399 or email gtp.enquiries@oxfordshire.gov.uk
